Spirit privacy ombudsman backs Google's $10m data deal
The consumer privacy ombudsman in Spirit Airlines' bankruptcy, Lucy Thomson, recommended the court approve the sale of deidentified passenger data to Google for $10m. Booking, transaction, refund and inflight purchase records are excluded from the deal; a hearing is set for 14 October.
