Valkey Team Details Async I/O, Cluster Upgrades and Plans Beyond Caching

Valkey developers at OSS EU outlined the project's evolution since forking from Redis: 8.x releases added async I/O threading that lifted throughput from 200,000–250,000 to about one million requests per second per process, while 9.x brought atomic slot migration and hash-field expiration. Future work includes synchronous replication, tiering to SSD and cross-cluster active-active replication.
