Adafruit's New CircuitPython 'Turbo' Brings Native Code To Tiny Boards

Adafruit introduced CircuitPython Turbo, a workflow that compiles selected Python functions into native machine code on a computer before loading them onto microcontrollers. In a Mandelbrot test on Metro RP2040, the Viper emitter sped up computation from 8.335 to 0.423 seconds — 19.71 times faster than bytecode. Turbo support is already included in official CircuitPython builds for RP2040 and RP2350.
