Google requires manual fact-checking of AI content before publication

Google's October 1, 2026 guidance update makes manual fact-checking and review an explicit pre-publication requirement for AI-generated content, including title elements, meta descriptions, structured data and image alt text. AI-generated product data must be labelled and carry IPTC DigitalSourceType: TrainedAlgorithmicMedia metadata.
