NIST launches resource hub for SP 800-63-4 implementation

NIST has launched an online hub of implementation resources for its Digital Identity Guidelines SP 800-63-4, including FAQs, version 0.1 of conformance criteria and guidance on digital wallets. The hub adds no new requirements — normative rules remain in SP 800-63-4 and its companion volumes.

• Hub went live October 6, over a year after SP 800-63-4 was finalized in July 2025
• Conformance criteria 0.1 available in Excel, PDF and OSCAL formats (JSON, XML, YAML)
• FAQs cover passwords, trusted referees and authoritative attribute sources
• Digital Identity Risk Management (DIRM) Tool listed as coming soon
