AWS launches open-source Physical AI Toolchain for robotics
AWS launched an open-source Physical AI Toolchain that unifies data collection, training, simulation, validation and edge deployment of AI models for robots. It combines AWS services like SageMaker and IoT Greengrass with NVIDIA's Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Isaac GR00T and Cosmos. The toolchain is hardware-neutral and does not replace the discontinued RoboMaker.
- Toolchain covers five stages: synthetic data, training, simulation, edge deployment and continuous improvement
- Uses Amazon SageMaker and AWS IoT Greengrass plus NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, GR00T and Cosmos
- Open-source and hardware-neutral; not a replacement for RoboMaker, shut down in 2025
- Built on lessons from Amazon's fleet of over 1 million robots and 300 Telexistence humanoids
