Google Cloud unveils 'Gemini agent' as a universal agent for work

At Gemini at Work 2026, Google Cloud announced the Gemini agent, a single universal agent for enterprise customers available in the Gemini Enterprise app, Workspace, and third-party services. It takes objectives rather than instructions, handling knowledge work, media creation, and code, running on both Gemini and Claude models with four types of memory.
