Amazon Leo plans direct-to-device satellite service in South Africa by 2028

Amazon Leo aims to launch its direct-to-device LEO satellite service in South Africa around 2028. The company has applied for regulatory licences and is in talks with local mobile operators; in July, Herotel agreed to distribute Amazon Leo's satellite broadband in South Africa from 2027.
