Utah Lets AI Scan Faces and Prescribe Acne Medication
Utah startup Nolla Health launched a pilot letting AI scan a patient's face, score acne severity and issue prescriptions from eight approved treatments. The $5-a-month service will run for one year with physician oversight.
- First 100 prescriptions will be reviewed by a board-certified physician
- Phase two lets AI treat 400 patients with weekly physician review
- Phase three requires monthly audits of at least 10% of prescriptions
- The Utah Medical Association was not involved in approving the pilot
