India commits Rs 335 crore to build 50 AL-31FP fighter jet engines per year at Koraput

India's Defense Ministry on October 6 committed ₹335 crore (~$34.7 million) to expand annual production of AL-31FP turbofan engines at HAL's Koraput Division from 30 to 50 units per year by 2030. The announcement coincided with the facility's 2,000th engine delivery and a call by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for a broader aerospace propulsion ecosystem.
