AMD ROCm 10.1 adds hipFILE fast-path, NUMA memory and LLVM 24
AMD released ROCm 10.1 on October 5, adding an asynchronous hipFILE fast-path to AMD Infinity Storage, NUMA-aware host memory placement in HIP, and ROCm CLI v1.0.0. The toolchain moves to LLVM 24, ROCm SMI is replaced by amd-smi, and WSL2 support enters tech preview.
- hipFileReadAsync() and hipFileWriteAsync() run directly on a HIP stream, skipping host-memory staging
- NUMA placement via hipMemLocationTypeHostNuma cuts inter-socket transfer penalties
- ROCm CLI v1.0.0 ships as a single binary for Linux, Windows and WSL2 with a TUI dashboard
- Toolchain upgraded to LLVM 24; ROCm SMI removed in favor of amd-smi
