Southern Company data breach hits 400,000 customer accounts
Southern Company said an unauthorized third party accessed data on roughly 400,000 customer accounts through its online portal. About 300,000 belong to Georgia Power customers and 100,000 to Alabama Power. Affected customers are offered a year of free credit monitoring.
