Denmark adopts grid "emergency plan," puts data centers at back of queue

Denmark's parliament approved an "emergency plan" for the electricity grid on October 1, 2026, set to take effect on October 12. The first-come, first-served principle will be replaced by four priority categories, with large data centers placed in the lowest, Category 4.
