IKEA launches free second-hand marketplace in the UK

IKEA has launched its second-hand resale platform in the UK, letting users buy and sell pre-loved IKEA products. The service is free for IKEA Family members, but from January 1, 2027 buyers will pay a 5% buyer protection fee. The marketplace is already live in Sweden, Spain, Norway, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal and Poland.

• Sellers can list furniture, lighting, smart home and electronics, but not mattresses, appliances or food
• Sellers can take payment as cash or an IKEA refund card with a 15% top-up
• From January 1, 2027 buyers will pay a 5% buyer protection fee
• The marketplace is already live in seven countries, including Sweden
