BAQIS and CAS Physics Ship 2000 uW Modular Dilution Fridge Below 10 mK
Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS) and the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences reported a modular, cryogen-free dilution refrigerator prototype in the 2,000-microwatt class for superconducting quantum processors. Two integrated modules each held base temperatures below 10 millikelvin, with roughly double the cooling power in the enlarged mixing-chamber sample space versus a single module.
- 2000-uW prototype roughly doubles cooling power of a single module in the same temperature window
- Both modules kept continuous base temperatures below 10 mK
- Load changes on one module barely affected the other's temperature or cooling power
- Paper published in Physical Review Applied on September 25
