Pentagon Pays Voyager $22.4M for Satellite Dispensers
The Pentagon awarded Voyager Technologies a $22.4 million Other Transaction Agreement to prototype satellite dispensers that use leftover mass and volume on scheduled national security launches. The goal is to grow the Space Force constellation faster without ordering more rockets.
- The $22.4M contract was placed by the Strategic Capabilities Office
- Dispensers use residual launch capacity for secondary satellites
- Standard ESPA carries up to 6 satellites of 180 kg; Grande up to 700 kg
- A secondary slot costs $4–9M versus $30M+ for a dedicated launch
