Amazon kills Alexa voice control of Echo AUX input
Amazon has disabled Alexa voice commands for controlling the AUX input on older Echo speakers, including Echo Plus 2nd Gen, Echo 3rd Gen, Echo 4th Gen and Echo Studio 1st Gen. The physical 3.5 mm input and the Alexa app toggle still work, and Amazon points users to Bluetooth.
- Commands like "Alexa, play from line in" and "Alexa, set aux input" no longer work
- Affected devices: Echo Plus 2nd Gen, Echo 3rd Gen, Echo 4th Gen, Echo Studio 1st Gen
- Physical AUX input and the Alexa app toggle remain functional
- Amazon did not explain the reason or how many users are affected
