Tesla turns on Powershare home backup for Model 3 and Model Y

Tesla has enabled Powershare Home Backup on the Model 3 and Model Y, letting their batteries power a home during an outage. It requires a Powerwall 3 and Wall Connector, is guaranteed only on cars ordered since October 1, 2026, and is limited to the US and Puerto Rico.

• Model 3 and Model Y add over two days of backup at 30 kWh daily use
• Maximum continuous output of the Powerwall setup is 11.52 kW
• Guarantee covers only cars ordered on or after October 1, 2026
• Grid Support (selling power back) is not available for these models
