US approves first data center-focused small nuclear reactor BWRX-300
The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved construction of GE Vernova Hitachi's 300MW BWRX-300 reactor at TVA's Clinch River site after a 14-month review. Another license is still needed before commercial power generation, and TVA is weighing up to four units. The same design is planned in the UK and Canada.
