Vitamin C trial EVITA shows fewer adverse events in pre-leukemia disorders
In the randomized EVITA trial, 109 people with CCUS or myelodysplastic syndrome took 1,000 mg of oral vitamin C daily for one year. The vitamin C group had fewer adverse events and, after about three years of follow-up, were more likely to be alive, though the result needs confirmation in a phase 3 study.
