Pentagon grants Amprius $75M to make drone batteries at EV plant

The US Department of War awarded Amprius Technologies a $75 million grant through its IBAS program to convert a civilian EV battery production line into manufacturing high-energy-density cells for military drones. The line, run by a major South Korean manufacturer, is set to be completed by early 2028 with capacity for 12 million cells annually.
