UAE and Morocco to Link Instant Payment Systems
The CBUAE and Bank Al-Maghrib signed two MoUs on October 3, making Morocco the first North African country in the UAE's instant payment network. Both the UAE's Aani and Morocco's GSIMT run on the ISO 20022 standard, easing integration. The deal targets transfers for 800,000 Moroccans in the UAE and a $13.4 billion remittance flow.
