Discord rolls out global age groups

On September 22, 2026, Discord began rolling out age groups worldwide: Adult (18+), Teen (13–17) and Unconfirmed. The company says over 90% of users won't be asked to confirm their age, while bot and app developers face four runtime behavior changes.

• Accounts fall into Adult, Teen and Unconfirmed groups, assigned automatically
• More than 90% of users won't be asked to confirm their age
• Custom statuses are hidden under private profiles in guilds over 200 members
• Channel obfuscation becomes mandatory for all bots on November 16, 2026
