How Apple gets iOS 27 onto millions of iPhone 18 Pro units in time for launch

Apple finalized iOS 27 on September 14, when millions of iPhone 18 Pro units had already been assembled. At factories, devices are flashed via automated systems, and in stores they are updated inside sealed boxes via the Presto system with MagSafe. Sales start September 18.
