CXMT starts mass production of its G5 DRAM platform

Chinese memory maker ChangXin Memory Technologies has begun mass production of its fifth-generation DRAM platform and demonstrated two LPDDR5X products with 24Gb capacities, 50% more than the previous generation. The G5 platform boosts memory density by at least 50% per wafer and improves power efficiency and manufacturing costs.

• Two 24Gb LPDDR5X products are already in mass production
• Memory density is up at least 50% over the G4 platform
• Global DRAM revenue rose 59.5% sequentially in Q2 2026
• A 32GB DDR5 kit now costs $550, up from $150 a year ago
