Microsoft blocks an average of 4.7 million new malware files and analyses 31 million identity risk detections every day. Its seventh annual Digital Defense Report found phishing accounted for 10.9% of intrusion attempts in 2026, while over 52% of intrusions involving compromised accounts led to further credential theft.
