Keurig Alta First Look: A Coffee Maker Without Plastic K-Cups

Keurig unveiled Alta, its first single-serve brewer using plastic- and aluminum-free AltaRound pods. Each compostable round is punctured and extracted at 10 bars of pressure; a US bundle with the brewer, four boxes of rounds and Flur glasses costs $500, while an eight-pack of rounds runs $10–11.
