Open Design: open-source Claude Design alternative hits 55,900 GitHub stars

The nexu-io team released Open Design, a local-first Apache-2.0 alternative to Claude Design. It turns CLI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini and others via 12 adapters) into a design engine, shipping 139 skill bundles and 150 DESIGN.md systems. The v0.8.0 project has passed 55,900 GitHub stars, though users report output quality still trails Claude Design.
