Huawei's openJiuwen open-sources X-Router to match models to agent requests
openJiuwen, the open-source AI agent platform from Huawei's 2012 Laboratories and Huawei Cloud, released X-Router, a self-evolving router that picks a model for each agent request. In PinchBench tests it cut token consumption by over 50%, and with bandit learning scored 70.7% at $6.16 versus 71.36% at $11.11 for Kimi-K2-Thinking.
- A Qwen3-0.6B classifier sorts requests into five tiers from SIMPLE to REASONING
- Simple jobs stay on local models, harder ones go to the cloud model mapped to that tier
- On PinchBench with bandit learning: 70.7% at $6.16 vs 71.36% at $11.11 for Kimi-K2-Thinking
- Rust core with a Python extension, Apache-2.0 license, published on GitHub and AtomGit
