Valar Atomics proposes 456 reactors totaling 9.6GW in Utah for data centers
Valar Atomics has filed a proposal to place 456 modular nuclear reactors on over 9,000 acres of federal land near Price, Utah, under Project Beehive. The stated 9.6GW would power computing facilities rather than homes, and the figures contain a discrepancy: 456 reactors at 25MW each total 11.4GW.
- 456 reactors at 25MW each across more than 9,000 acres
- Stated 9.6GW conflicts with 11.4GW implied by unit specs
- Output could power 7–7.8 million homes but goes to data centers
- Non-nuclear work in 2026, reactors in 2028, full campus by 2032
