Black holes grow quietly with bulgeless galaxies, no mergers needed
Astronomers analyzed 2,435 galaxies hosting actively feeding black holes using DESI data and identified 546 bulgeless systems. Published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, the work suggests black holes grow just as effectively without galaxy mergers.
