Germany launches ATHENE-1 satellite to counter GPS jamming
OHB SE said its 400 kg ATHENE-1 research satellite reached sun-synchronous orbit after launching on a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Vandenberg on October 1. Built under the €77 million-plus SeRANIS program, it carries 15 experiments, including detecting and locating GPS jamming sources, resilient 5G/6G satellite links and onboard AI data processing.
