Consumer Reports: 9 in 10 Americans Have Faced Cyberattacks and Scams
A study by Consumer Reports, Aspen Digital and the Global Cyber Alliance found that 9 in 10 US adults have faced at least one digital scam or cyberattack. The share who are not at all confident in the privacy of their sensitive data nearly doubled, from 16% in 2025 to 29%, while those confident fell from 48% to 32%. Experts point to AI making fraud cheaper and more personalized, and call for legislative action.
