Bain: AI market must hit $6T a year to pay off data center buildout
Bain & Company estimates hyperscaler capital expenditure on AI infrastructure will reach $780 billion in 2026 and $1.5 trillion annually by 2031. To justify that spending, the AI market would need to be worth $6 trillion a year, while current consumer and enterprise AI markets could reach only $1.8 trillion by 2031, leaving a $4.2 trillion gap to be filled by new markets.
