HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to build 500 MW offshore substation off Taean

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signed a main contract with Taean Wind Power to design, procure, manufacture, install and commission a 500 MW offshore substation off Taean. The project followed a pre-design deal in March and a preferred supply agreement in July, with the substation model verified by DNV.

• Offshore substation capacity is 500 MW
• Contract covers design, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning
• Substation model passed DNV basic design verification in 2025 and detailed verification in August
• Customer is a JV of Vena Energy, CIP and Korea Western Power
