Ateios opens 50-MWh battery electrode line that swaps drying ovens for electron beams
Ateios Systems has installed a 50-MWh-per-year electrode coating line in Newberry, Indiana, that replaces solvent drying ovens with electron-beam curing. The line coats at up to 30 meters per minute on a 300-mm web and claims one-fifth the capital and operating cost of gigawatt-scale equipment.
- The 50-MWh line is already shipping electrodes for consumer, defense, aerospace and mobility uses
- Coating speeds reach 30 meters per minute on a 300-mm-wide web
- Ateios claims one-fifth the capital and operating cost of GWh-scale coaters
- Coating trials take 2–4 weeks versus 3–6 months for conventional programs
