Microsoft deletes nonprofit customers' M365 data, says it can't be recovered

Microsoft has admitted it accidentally deleted cloud data belonging to licensed nonprofits during the retirement of its Microsoft 365 Business Premium Grant licenses, and the data is irretrievable. Affected organizations were offered a free switch to Microsoft 365 Business Basic, but lost OneDrive files and emails unless they had their own backups.
