Anthropic pushes opt-out model for Australian content as ABC warns of 'cannibalisation'

Anthropic has urged the Australian government to allow AI training on copyrighted works under a conditional opt-out model after conceding a blanket copyright exemption is unlikely. ABC and SBS demanded AI firms face the same copyright, defamation and privacy rules as media outlets and be included in the news bargaining incentive.
