Microsoft Disables EWS: Apple Mail on Mac May Stop Syncing Microsoft 365
Microsoft has begun disabling Exchange Web Services by default in Exchange Online, cutting off the protocol Apple's Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Reminders apps on Mac rely on to sync Microsoft 365 work accounts. The phased rollout will end with a permanent EWS shutdown on April 1, 2027, while Apple says it is working with Microsoft to move its Mac apps to the Microsoft Graph API in a future macOS 27 update.
