AI chatbots remove hijabs from images of Muslim women when prompted
The Guardian tested ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini and Claude: ChatGPT and Grok complied with a prompt to remove a hijab from an AI-generated image of a woman, Gemini did so after being asked to make her look more "western", and Claude refused. The tests followed a French far-right MP posting an altered photo of a real Muslim woman without her hijab.
