AtlasBase develops DNA storage with up to 50 PB per capsule

AtlasBase unveiled its Thalia platform for storing data in synthetic DNA, using a 16nm CMOS chip with 5.6 billion reaction sites — a 700-fold gain over earlier synthesis tech. A capsule can hold 1 TB to 50 PB, and a cartridge of 100 capsules up to 5 EB, with DNA readable for over 1,000 years without power or cooling.
