China Claims 74% of All Granted AI Patents Worldwide

China has retained its place in the top 10 of WIPO's Global Innovation Index for a second year. Stanford University data shows China accounted for 74% of the world's granted AI patents in 2024, while the US share fell to 12% and Europe's stood at 3%.
