Metra receives first US battery-electric FLIRT locomotive from Stadler

Chicago's Metra has taken delivery of the first US battery-electric Stadler FLIRT trainset. It seats 112 passengers, has a range of 45–65 miles and charges from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes; passenger service is expected before the end of 2027.

• Capacity is 112 seats, plus an optional car for 46 more riders
