Samsung Foundry Targets 4x Customer Growth by 2029 in AI Chip Push
Samsung said at Korea Premium Week 2026 that its foundry customer count could reach four times the 2017 level by 2029 as it shifts from mobile chips to AI and high-performance computing. AI and HPC are expected to grow from 5% of the business in 2017 to 66% by 2029, with third-gen 2nm mass production in 2028 and 1.4nm in 2029. TSMC currently holds 42% of the foundry market versus Samsung's 4%.
