Dry-cathode additive boosts thick lithium-ion EV battery power

A KRICT team added 0.5% graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) to a 68-micrometer dry cathode, cutting the energy needed for lithium-ion movement by 56% and raising high-speed discharge capacity by 165.9%, from 58.8 to 156.2 mAh/g. Power density nearly tripled, and pouch cells retained 81.3% capacity after 600 cycles versus 72.9% for standard electrodes.
