LaLiga asks EU to put NordVPN, ProtonVPN, ExpressVPN and Surfshark on piracy watch list

LaLiga has filed a 14-page submission asking the European Commission to add NordVPN, ProtonVPN, ExpressVPN and Surfshark to its 2027 Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List. The league says its complaint is not about VPN technology itself but about affiliate programs that promote guides for bypassing geo-blocking and court-ordered site blocks. The filing also targets AFTVnews' Downloader app, saying 262 of 341 catalogued short codes lead to pirate apps.
