India's GAC appeals backlog hits 30,000 as decisions take months

At an SFLC.in event in Delhi, YouTuber Meghnad S described three routes by which content disappears in India: copyright strikes, platform rule removals and silent takedowns. Pending appeals at the Grievance Appellate Committee rose from 174 in November 2025 to over 30,000, with some cases taking four months or more.
