Philippines' NTC moves to regulate sale of used phones and gadgets

The Philippines' National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) is drafting rules for the sale of used and refurbished phones, tablets and other devices. The proposed circular covers importation, dealership, accreditation, labeling and sale, with a public hearing held on September 23. Refurbished devices would have to be boxed under the authorized seller's brand and sold with a one-year repair or replacement warranty.
