LS Eco Energy builds Vietnam rare earth base with $8.4M investment

LS Eco Energy will invest 11.6 billion won ($8.41 million) to build a samarium metal plant in Ho Chi Minh City with annual capacity of about 240 tons. Australia's Lynas will supply raw materials, and output will go to LS Cable & System's permanent magnet factory. Trial production starts in December.
