UK social media restrictions to take effect March 2027 with age-adaptive model

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy announced that the UK's new social media rules will come into force in March 2027. The legislation targets features rather than apps: under-16s face restrictions, while 16- and 17-year-olds will have live streaming, stranger communication and autoplay off by default, plus a midnight-to-6am curfew and notification blocks.
